The government can keep the money as a reserve fund to backup singapore if we have any financial crisis unlike europe which does not bother to save money. CPF is important too as it helps people who retire to have enough money to survive the rest of the days in their lives.
Government sit there do nothing can get money one .........................................................................................................
If there is no tax system, where can Singapore get money for road repairing works or something. Where can Singapore get money to run the country without money? So, i think it's so fair.
Yes because the government helps you in a lot of issues therefore it is only logical for you to return the money back to the government so it can use the money to help others and yourself further.
There are goods and bads but mostly good but the government is fair to us as the poor should not pay for they are poor but the rich have money to spend on their tax so it is fair
The tax is not really high, so yeah, it's fair. Singapore's tax is 7% in terms of GST which is quite reasonable. Let's say i buy a GS Card with GST included, which cost $10, I only have to pay an extra $0.70. That amount is not a lot compared to how much i payed for the original product. That's why Singapore tax is so darn fair.
They are making the middle class income people pay more of the percentage of their annual income than the people who are rich and earn a lot more income than that of the people in the middle class range, so the government should make them pay more. This is the view of many people. But the rich people are usually the ones that are benefitting the economy of the country, running businesses that will benefit the country's income and economy and the government probably does not want them to pay too much tax so that they won't complain and say that they are the people who contribute most to the country's economy but yet you are charging us so much.
Because the government is providing us with everything Singapore and the people within need. Therefore, it is logical that we are paying for these kind of services to be continued.
the amount that people earn coincides with the amount he has to pay that in tern is fairness to all people because if a poor person pays the same amount of tax as a rich person he will go bankrupt thus the amount of fairness for each person is different depending on the amount he earns .
Singaporeans who earn a higher income should pay a higher percentage of tax as they have a higher buffer of excess income after paying for their basic needs.
The taxes collected from the wealthier can be used for:
1. Government spending (e.g. military, education, public housing)
2. Redistributing wealth to the needy (e.g. health care subsidies, subsidised rental)
The tax system makes it such that people with different amount of money pay different amounts of tax, so the tax is not a fixed amount, and the poor would not find it as difficult to pay for taxes. Anyway the rich may find $20 nothing, but to the poor $20 a lot, so the rich probably would not have trouble paying for their taxes, while the poor, if taxes were a fixed amount, would have trouble paying for the amount. So in other words, because the tax is not fixed, the different types of people would pay the same amount of money compared to their income.
The poorer people gets taxed less as their income is lesser then the rich people, which is fair as they might not be able to afford to pay if the tax amount is too high. As for the rich people, they get taxed more as they have all the $$$ to pay for it.
if you place closer attention to the people with low income, middle income and higher income and the tax they have to pay, it does not affect much on their daily lifestyle
The government taxes with reliefs that can reduce the amount of the tax given. The tax can also benefit the tax providers by developing the country using the tax such as smoothing and levelling the roads and providing more lamp posts so that traffic can run smoothly at night.
Singapore government is doing a lot on its part. Its lowering prices and giving us goods at offers.STILL,sometimes the tax system tends to be unfair.lots of subsidies are being given to the working classes,so people can make use of the subsidy wisely to benefit the tax system
No, because the ones earning less need not pay yet the ones earning more need to pay. Even if the people who earn more~earn more, it still isn't fair as the ones who earn less may not even require ANY payment. They should add a small tax even though the people who earn less~earn less.
By only letting the middle and rich people pay taxes, and giving tax free to the lower-income people, the middle and higher income people will feel unhappy. They should either give tax free to everyone, which will then make our economy go down, or they should let everyone pay taxes, which will create a few sparks, but let the ''ever wanting money'' government to have more taxes, which in turn, have a greater amount of money
People who are uneducated and work low paying jobs, and fall into the lower income don't have to pay for their taxes. But people, Who work hard and work higher paying jobs, and are required to pay for their own taxes and does not do the middle and higher income justice. Thus, i agree it is NOT FAIR
I could do alot with the kind of money that they charge me and take away from my salary, even after including the reliefs..... This is as good as daylight robbery, except it is legal......
No, because the Singapore Government are bios towards the poor people. We should all be treated the same way and be given the same tax to pay a month. If the poor people have to pay $500 a year, we should be given the same amount to pay.
No this isn't fair. Besides the income tax we pay, there is other factors like ERP Gantries , service taxes we pay. Isn't the tax we pay daily enough???!?!?!?!??!:D
No, because they are no as fair as the poor person as the richer one even though he needs to pay the tax but the richer one would still have more to spent on
As richer people in the end have more money to spend. ..,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,,.,.,.,.,.].,[][.],[.][,].[],[.][],[.][,].[],[.][,][.],[.],[].[],[.,][.][,.][,].[][.][,..............,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,
Yeah they should charge more $$ to the rich for the poor to help them to support their families & maybe use it for Singapore's needs & maybe not to charge the poor at all... ;P
No the taxes rise every month. Singapore is so EXPENSIVE!!! I wish the government would lower down the taxes. The government people salary is soooooo much!!!
The people who earn more money have to pay more taxes. If is not fair because the people who work hard to earn money pay more taxes than the people who get less salary.
As the saying goes "the rich gets richer" i think people who cant even afford to rent a house should not get taxed! Why should the government take advantage by sucking their money dry! I strongly disagree with the government taxing poorer people
No,cause self-employed people may not be declaring their actual income to the government or may be under declaring their income and they enjoy rebates that are meant for the poor
Singapore government is doing a lot on its part to suck peoples hardwork and give us less money or take our money away through tax system. Its raising prices and giving us goods at no offers.the tax system tends to be unfair
Singapore government is doing a lot on its part to suck peoples hardwork and give us less money or take our money away through tax system. Its raising prices and giving us goods at no offers.the tax system tends to be unfair. AIYO.CANNOT BEAR TAX PAYMENT
that would make the poor people poor and the rich people filthy rich that would lead to more crime because more people would want to rob the filthy rich people
